Little Hands #2 - Sivaji Puram Colony, Mundoor, Thrissur Dist.
Second wave of Covid is sweeping across India. People are scrambling everywhere for life. There is chaos for vaccine, cries for oxygen, rush to hospitals and push for day-to-day life too. Thousands of deaths are getting reported every day! Our country is going through the greatest crisis in its recent past.
From some safe social media corners we hear the blame games, exploitation in the time of calamity is becoming common. What should we do? Yes, stay at home by being safe and keeping others too safe. But what more?
The noise is getting too heavy within us and that is when we decided - Let us be the part of the solution and not the problem! We decided to rekindle our "Little Hands" again and be there for the suffering souls around us in whatever ways possible!
At that same time itself we got an SOS call from Sivaji Puram Colony where several families are struggling in Covid crisis - unable to go for their daily labor.
One of our alert volunteer, took up this and offered support for 10 families in the colony through our "Little Hands" initiative.
Grocery, vegetables and household items needed are procured and distributed through the friends circle who raised the SOS.
Ten families touched ! The suffocation holding us down for almost an year felt to be a little relieved. We breathed light and relaxed - ensuring we do not use up too much of oxygen!
