Little Hands #3 - Snehatheeram Charitable Trust, Farook, Kozhikode Dist.

Little Hands got another opportunity to do their little deeds of goodness for the needy around !  Snehatheeram Charitable Trust, Farook, Kozhikode , a humble charity trust, helps and shelters those souls who are abandoned in the hospital wards. In this Covid crisis, since the field collection is stopped, they are looking for sponsors for food/medicine for their 28 inmates.  Little Hands joined hands to support in providing them 7 days of breakfast. Little Hands #2 - Sivaji Puram Colony, Mundoor, Thrissur Dist.

Second wave of Covid is sweeping across India. People are scrambling everywhere for life. There is chaos for vaccine, cries for oxygen, rush to hospitals and push for day-to-day life too. Thousands of deaths are getting reported every day! Our country is going through the greatest crisis in its recent past. From some safe social media corners we hear the blame games, exploitation in the time of calamity is becoming common. What should we do? Yes, stay at home by being safe and keeping others too safe. But what more?  The noise is getting too heavy within us and that is when we decided - Let us be the part of the solution and not the problem! We decided to rekindle our " Little Hands " again and be there for the suffering souls around us in whatever ways possible! Note to All Little Souls

It is a decade now and over this long trail of ten years several several things changed around us and within us. But our " Little Hands " waited without an iota of change - waited patiently for us to come back to it. It was not that we did not do anything as part of " Little Hands ". We had a handful of activities done here and there but none of those got documented properly.  And now here we are in 2021 battling fiercely against an age old pandemic monster which has gripped this entire world.  As we join the fight, we are bringing up our " Little Hands " again as an effort to pacify the pain around us in whatever little ways possible.  Let us all join our little hands in our little acts of kindness! Little Hands #1 - Kasturba Old Age Home, Nedupuzha, Thrissur

Eight months since the genesis of our "Little Hands" initiative, at last, we launched into our first activity, in all its humble means. As the Sanskrit proverb goes " sreyamsi bahu vignani " (many hurdles spring up even for good things !), our first activity too had its own obstacles all over. However, it all ended in a very sublime note. Yes, just with the virtue of our undying spirit and the true support from the hearts of all of us !     Women, in her myriad roles as mother, daughter or wife are the spirit and the soul of our society.  By pure chance, for our first activity we got the opportunity to serve them in our humble way. The Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust (KGNMT), based at Indore, was established in 1945 as a result of the national endeavor, led by Mahatma Gandhi, to address the issues of women in rural India.  Kasturba Old Age Home located in the outskirts of Thrissur town is a branch of KGNMT.
